Failure to honor $3 ink recycling coupons ripoff

Staples is currently offering a $3 coupon towards purchases for every Lexmark of HP ink cartridge that you bring in for recycling/reuse.

I brought in 4 cartridges, for a total of $12 in coupons.

The coupons clearly state on them "May redeem up to 3 per day". However, the refused to honor this at checkout and would only accept 1 coupon. The chasier stated, "We can only take 1 at a time." When I pointed out that the coupon stated that 3 could be used per day, the cashier stated, "But only 1 per purchase."

I have carefully reviewed the terms printed on the coupons, and no where does it say you can only one per purchase.in terms of usage it only says, "May redeem up to 3 per day."
