Expectations of being soaked for all you can afford! Ripoff

Two years ago I joined Great Expectations. The recruiter assured me that the main type of guy that came through the door was around my age, looking for marriage and children.

She said she couldn't guarantee the price unless I signed up that day and to get the lower monthly rate (the one I could afford) I had to sign a two year contract. But it was okay! If I was unhappy they would take steps to help me.

After one year I had only three dates. Most of the men who wanted to date me were in their 60's! One guy I had to throw out of my house because he was becoming abusive. When I complained they did nothing. Though I clearly stated I was a Care Minister and couldn't drink alcohol their Yenta paired me up with men whose main hobby was wine tasting.

Then I saw an investigation (don't know if it was Fox 9) on Christian Dating services where I heard the same promises from the Christian recruiter that GE had fed me! I immediately called them up and cancelled! Instead of someone calling back to help me they did nothing!

Now they have sent me to a collection agency to collect the second year's payment though they did nothing to earn it! I recently called GE and asked them to not only write off my debt, but take it off my credit record. I told them of the massive amounts that I found on the internet. They said either pay up or do what you feel you need to do.

So I am. I hope you can help. It was 2 years ago and I have no proof of who I talked to at GE to take them to court, but they shouldn't get away with this! Thanks!
