We are a small family of property investors from the UK we bought 1 new condominiums from Macanthany Realty in Florida 22 months ago.

Im sad to say even though we have 15 years of experience in buying and selling land and property in several country's around the world we where in - flounced by the first impression of professionalism from this company, after lots of promises and assurance over 12 days we were asked for a payment of $59,000 to secure the unit because we were told that we would not have to close on this unit (mortgage it) we can and will sell it for a profit before the construction is finished on the Macanthony realty resale program, perfect for us at the time.

This is were the professionalism rapidly disappears
After they got the deposit we only get a secretary to talk to us and more fake promises of the sales team are in a meeting, they will ring you ASAP

3 months later to our surprise we were contacted by a mortgage company called Capital finance partners (Jay Fitzgerald) associate of Macanthony realty who said it would be wise to have a mortgage in place just encase the unit didn't sell on Macanthonys resale program. But wait a minute this unit wasn't due to be finished for another 18 months so we were a little concerned to say the least, that they are now saying that our unit might not sell.

0k so we are investors that's what happens some times so we decided to have a mortgage in place as a safety net after all we have already paid the deposit haven't we?
SORRY but that was only to secure the unit not a deposit, foreign nationals must have a minimum deposit of 20% = $79,000 plus closing costs developers costs fees taxes etc etc ect ect. The real total is now over $112,000. Just something they forget to mention when we initially paid the security deposit,

We have since been in touch with several investors who bought through this company on this development and most have a similar tale to tell,

BE WARNED this unit will not make any profit and will almost defiantly leave us with negative equity. This is not source grapes we know a good investment when we see one and what Macanthony presenter to us in the first 2 weeks was a good investment opportunity, plain and simple. They lied and didn't tell us the hole truth. We have recently been informed that the sales representative who sold us our unit, is no longer working for them,

We are now seeking legal advice but we didn't get these promises in righting... Do we have a case probably not. We forgot the old saying don't judge a book buy its cover and beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing. See beyond the BMWs in the car park, fancy words and promises get it in righting PLEASE..
