Dishonest technicians Bad Service Wouldn't credit bill ripoff

I live in an apartment complex in which the lines under the community are owned by Knology, giving residents no other options for cable and phone service, or DSL. I added a DSL line to my account in July 06, only to have it stop working a week later.

I called the tech support, they walked me through the process, and it was reestablished for about 3 days. My husband called Knology Aug 11,06 and requested a tech come out to the house because it was showing in their system that we were receiving the signal, but we weren't. They told my husband that they would be there that afternoon, and they never showed up. We waited past 5pm for them to arrive with our neighbors over as witnesses.

Like most people, we have jobs and lives, and they don't revolve around our DSL service, so we didn't have the time to call and report that the guy didn't show. My husband is in the army and works long hours and I work long hours as well.

I called Knology yesterday to disconnect the $60 service that I paid for last month, and asked that we be given a credit for this month since the tech never came. She informed me that the tech was there and replaced a connector. I would like to know when he came because we were there, and he never came to our house. I told them that he never came, and ended up speaking to a supervisor. As a manager myself, I would want to know if my employees were lying about showing up for their appts.

But this manager said they can't credit me because I didn't call and report that the guy didn't show up sooner. I requested that they leave my service on long enough to have a tech come to my house, make me miss work to sit and wait for him between the hours of 2 and 5pm, to verify that my service is NOT working so that they can credit me the month of service before I cancel it.

If you have a choice, as I don't, PLEASE do not use Knology. This was not the first time that their techs stood us up for appointments.
