I had a sofa that I wanted to be reupholstered. I called Hassock House and arranged to have a sales rep/owner to come to my home to look at the sofa. He told me that it was definitely worth reupholstering and that the problem I had with the cushions sagging in the back would be removed because he was building up the sofa bed with more foam and that would support the seat cushions. I understood this to be possible because I did have this sofa reupholstered before and the man did a fantastic job.

The sofa also had upholstery buttons and we agreed that we would use them and make a different design. I paid him up front in full by check in the amount of 1,550.00. This took place on Nov. 30. The sofa was to be picked up in 2 weeks and the work completed by the 2nd week in Jan. 2006. I did not receive this sofa till late March or early April.

There was a problem ordering the fabric. Sheer negligence on this person's Pete part. He simply forgot too. To make a long story short the fabric does come in, the sofa is covered without the upholstery buttons and I noticed the seat cushions were not right the orginal problem was still there. Pete assures me that the sofa is not finished and when it leaves their store the buttons will be on it and that the foam would fix the cushions.

During all this time I was the one that had to pursue them when it came to getting any information on the status of this sofa.

Several weeks go by I call once again. This time I get this woman named Margie on the phone who is one of the owners, she told me that she had been ill and had no idea what was going on, called Pete a few choice profane words which I wasn't comfortable with and found very unprofessional and suggested I call this former employee and let him figure it out. I told her that it was not my place to do so, I did business with Hassock House Inc. And they are liable for this transaction. She really gave me the run around for about 4-5 months, finally she did come to my home in a very unprofessional like manner, started yelling at me that nothing was wrong with the sofa that this problem is common with all sleep sofas.

In the meantime she's carrying on about where the orginal mattress is? I told her how would I know you picked the sofa up from me, I certainly had no idea where the mattress was.

When she entered my home she had a very bad attitude told my dog to shut up and paraded through my home without my inviting her to do so. I found this to be very strange. She insisted there was really nothing wrong with the sofa, but she was willing to work with me, she was going to order more foam to fill the mattress cavity in it the correct size which was queen not what was originally installed as full.

She left saying she would order the foam, and restuff the 2 seat cushions and I would hear from her in 2 weeks. A month went by I called her and the woman went ballistic on me, told me she wasn't liable for this work order that she was doing it out of the goodness of her heart.in the mean time every other word out of her mouth was a cuss word and I really felt that she was trying to intimidate me.

She actually had the audacity to tell me to stop "yelling" at her she didn't give me a chance to get a word in, she said things to me that were very unprofessional and then said she would give me the "old" owners number and I could deal with him. Then she slammed the phone.

I called back her store and got her voice mail. I reminded her that she hung up before she gave me the telephone number of the former owner. I firmly suggested she call me by the end of that business day 8-30-06 to provide me with the number.

I did call back again to ask her son who also treated me very poorly for both the "new" and "old" owners phone numbers and he refused to do so stating he didn't know anything about them.

I paid to have my sofa reupholstered to standards that we agreed upon. I either want them to do something about it or I want a refund.
