Ripoff, deceptive practice, liars, manipulators, FRAUD!

On 7/11/06 I paid cash in hand, to Robert E. Cox (Bob Cox) DBA Vom Shepherdhaus Kennels. His website: coxgermanshepherds.com Bob was an acting agent for Aaron Allen Pickard of Elkhart, IN, for the sale of "Blitz Mi Amigo Can", male stud dog, German Shepherd. Argentina import. Tattoo # BM3055, DOB: 9/12/04. Total price $3000. Down pmt of $1000 cash paid, payments of $200 per month until the balance of $2000 is paid in full, pmts begin 8/11/06.

Bob Cox insisted that the $1000 be paid via cash only. Bob Cox hand wrote me a receipt for my cash of $1000 that I paid to him. I asked for Aaron's address and I was told by Bob that Aaron was in trouble with the IRS, and he couldn't have a paper trail leading to Aaron, so that is why he insisted on cash vs check or cashiers check. Bob told me that payments would be payable and sent to Bob's address in Nashville, IL and Bob would handle EVERYTHING involving said dog. This dog was an import from Argentina, and Bob was also going to transfer ownership into his name and apply for the AKC registration.

I was guaranteed that the dog was a stud dog, to be used for breeding purposes, as I breed/raise German Shepherds. I was guaranteed that for ANY reason we weren't happy with the dog we would get a FULL refund, no questions asked. (HA!)

On July 13 I took Blitz to my vet as he crossed IN, IL, MO State lines w/o a State Health Certificate, he wasn't vaccinated, he was off heart-gard, and needed a exam. He was under weight at 64 pounds! Almost 2 yrs old. Every rib showed.

On July 14 one of my females was ready to be bred, and I put Blitz with Ginny and he could not breed her. He tried and tried and just could not perform. I talked to my vet about this and he suggested returning the dog for a full refund. He said if the dog was going to breed he would have done so, despite the temps.

I emailed Bob Cox on 7/15/06 letting him know that "Blitz" was not a stud dog. He ignored my emails. On 7/17/06 I called him on his cell phone and he said he suggested putting the dogs into an air conditioned room, we took the dogs to an a/c basement of 69 degrees, after cool down and after 2 hrs Blitz could not perform. I took photos of the attempts but no ties and sent them to Bob.

At this point he became very angry. I told him numerous times I wanted a refund. He kept telling me that he was talking to "Aaron" about all this and he said that Blitz sired TWO litters. I said how so with no AKC papers? He paused and said in Argentina. I called AKC and got the number for the Argentina registry, when I emailed Bob to let him know I was calling Argentina, he called me stating that the 2 litters were unregistered and were sold as pets. Hmmm. Likely story... NO proof he sired anything. After that Aaron Pickard decides to call...

On 7/18/06 Aaron Pickard calls me, for the first time I get to talk to this man. First of all he attempts to intimidate one by telling you that he is involved with police depts all over the U.S., and gives narcotic seminars all over the U.S. (b.S. To that) Our initial call he had to put me on hold, when he got back to me, he felt it necessary to tell me, "that was one of "MY" officers, I had to take that call". I am conducting a narcotic seminar etc., etc., then he proceeds to tell me that he is a master trainer, blah, blah, blah. (I taped his conversation)

To make a VERY LONG story short he told me many times through out the conversation that he would guarantee the dog to be a breedable stud dog if not, he would give me 310% of my money back, PLUS as a BONUS he would let me keep the dog. My reply to that was I want what I paid for, a stud dog, Blitz is not. He said he was using Blitz prior to him coming to me as a "flirter" with his other female dogs in his kennel. He said he imports dogs 30-40 at a time, that he had facilities all over IN, IL. He said he provides the military with all their dogs, and has 17 dogs in Iraq. B.S. To that as my son-in-law is in the military a SGT in the Marine Corps and he said that the military imports ALL their dogs themselves.

Aaron wanted me to continue to try to breed Blitz and not use any other stud dog as he assured me that Blitz would indeed breed. After all he gave me his word, & his personal guarantee. He told me he would come down and assist the dog, he never showed. He told me he would bring another male down, that never happened either. Where's my refund Aaron? Bob?

7/19/06 I called Bob left a message on his cell phone to let him know that Ginny was now going out of heat and this breeding was a total loss. He wouldn't return my call. I emailed him and let him know. Still no reply. Then Aaron calls, this time its not a pleasant call, he tells me he sold Blitz as a stud dog to someone else and wants me to bring the dog to IN. I told him I didn't go to IN to get him.

Bob brought him to his work construction trailer in Wood River, IL and that's where I will return him once I get a full refund first. Apparently Aaron knows this "Matt" that delivers mobile homes all over the U. S and delivers dogs for Aaron, so if Matt happens to be where Aaron needs a dog to be, well that's just another sale for Aaron, and FREE delivery! Aaron stated that I wouldn't get a refund until I brought the dog back and after he was checked out by his vet first and then he would mail me a refund.

What a joke this is! He doesn't even take the dog to the vet prior to sale and transports w/o State required health papers. This idiot Aaron thinks I am stupid enough to give back the dog without a refund. Think again.

As soon as I hung up on Aaron I was sitting at my computer and was at the pedigreedatabase.com web site and lo and behold the message board contained "Aaron Pickard" I clicked on his name and there were numerous complaints against him. One lady in Louisiana stated she had a warrant issued for him to the tune of $35,000 she also has posted her complaint on this site. The list of people complaining about this man was overwhelming.

On 7/19/06 I receive a email from Aaron Pickard, stating that he requests documentation from my vet as to why Blitz is not suitable for stud. He goes on to tell me that if I intend to sue him over this, that I will be responsible for his loss of wages of $125 per hour, (that's over $200,000 per year income being a "master trainer" wonder if the IRS knows...) also his attorney fees, mileage, etc., He also states he will sue me for loss of stud fees on Blitz. He also stated in this email that Bob Cox "handled" the transaciton. (now both are liable)

On Sunday, July 23 I noticed something on Blitz' belly I moved his hair back and there was a scar, first thing that came to mind was a hernia. I took Blitz in to my vet on 7/24/06 and sure enough that's what it was from. The other medical term this scar could have been was from a procedure done on a neutered dog. That procedure didn't apply to Blitz as he was a intact (both testicles) male.

My vet gave me a report stating on 7/24/06 that he examined the dog, identified the dog as Blitz, included his tattoo # and DOB and stated that the dog is not suitable for breeding purposes, as he has a incision scar cranial to the penile sheath apprx 3 inches. The most likely cause of this scar was an umbilical hernia repair. An umbilical hernia is a heritable trait that will be passed on to future offspring. This is therefore a dog that should not be used for breeding purposes. Signed by my vet. I sent a copy of this to Bob Cox on 7/24/06.

On 7/20/06 I sent a letter via certified mail to Bob Cox demanding my $1000 refunded to me.

On 7/24/06 I copied the vet report and sent it to Bob Cox along with the receipt he gave to me (handwritten) for my $1000 cash down pmt., Also included was a copy of Aaron's email requesting the vet report, a packet was sent to Bob Cox on 7/24/06 sent via delivery confirmation. Once again included in my letter that I wanted my money refunded.

On 7/26/06 my attorney sent Bob Cox a letter demanding the $1000 refunded or suit to file.

On 7/27/06 I received a certified letter from Bob Cox, stating he NEVER sold me the male dog. He claims he was just an innocent helper.in his own admission he states he gave the $1000 to Aaron Pickard. Then proceeds to tell me that I will make the $200 pmts payable to him, then BOB will forward the payments on to Aaron for the next 10 months! BUT he will not give me Aaron's address. What's he hiding? Why is he protecting Aaron?

The address I found for Aaron was doing internet searches. When Aaron called me, it came up on my caller ID of "Sarah E. Pickard" and that was the address given through "google". I know for a fact he lives in Elkhart, IN. Bob stated in his last paragragh that I AM harassing him, and he will file charges against me! Ha! I called my attny and read him Bob's letter and he said I can go after BOTH of them, Bob is an acting agent on Aaron's behalf so he is just as liable as Aaron. He told me in regards to the the harassment that was absolutely ridiculous as he owes me money.

On 7/27/06 Bob called me 4 times trying to be Mr.innocent in all this, he said that Aaron called my vet and said my vet aplogized to Aaron. I called my vet on 7/27/06 and my vet said no such thing. My vet stated that he will stand behind what he wrote and if needed in a court of law.

Bob then called me back and I told him what the vet said, and he said well that's what Aaron said. I said you take too much stock into what Aaron says. I asked Bob for Aaron's address since per Bob Aaron has my money and once again Bob could not find Aaron's address. He fumbled around and "hee-hawed" around some B.S. Story as to why he can't find Aaron's address. Bob told me that it was perfectly alright to breed a dog with a umbilical hernia. He had no problems with that. I told him what kind of ethical breeder are you? Evidently a pretty crappy breeder in deed as a lady emailed me and told me that a friend of hers bought a pup from Bob that had "red mange" which is a hereditary defect. She said her friends dealing with the Cox's were not a pleasant one, and they waited over a year and a half for a replacement pup.

Before this ordeal happened with Blitz. Bob bred my female Calla to his VA titled male "Marco Abea Z Mirkova Chovu" he sent me photo emails of the tie on 6/30/06, and Calla is due 8/31/06. Bob informed me on 7/27/06 that he will not sign a AKC litter application form as Marco's puppies are pet puppies only. I was very upset as I drove over 200 miles one way four times, dropping her off and picking her up.

The agreement was for him to have pick of the litter for stud fees. He insisted on Calla being bred to Marco and come to find out why, was that his "Xenia" posted on his website was due to have puppies towards the end of June and he took deposits on this litter, and she never had any puppies. Xenia was bred to Marco, per Bob it didn't take. Therefore he owed someone a Marco puppy. That's where I came in. He told me he would sign AKC papers on the litter but now he is a liar many times over. I also bought Calla from him as well, on 4/25/06. Bob's the one that suggested that I breed Calla to his Marco when I bought her. He was very excited and wanted her bred to him as soon as she went in heat.

On 7/31/06 I received an email from the original owner in Argentina of Blitz. The email read: Blitz was sold for home companionship pet show home only. The seller sold him at "Great deal" to give him good loving home only. That proves to me that when Aaron bought the dog as he stated in a taped conversation to me on 7/18/06 that he imported this dog, Aaron knew he was a "PET" only NOT a stud dog. Yet Aaron and Bob BOTH represented this dog to be a "top notch" stud dog.
This is FRAUD! They both knowingly and willfully misrepresented this dog to me. These men are nothing but liars, CON-ARTIST! Do NOT do any business with these men whatsoever. BUYER BEWARE!

I am out $1000 plus expenses, I still do not have a stud male, I lost out on Ginny's litter by wasting time breeding her to Blitz, I guess that was a blessing since he has a defect and if he did breed would have pups with umbilical hernia's.

I am out Calla's litter as I took deposits and had them sold for $1500 each and now Bob refuses to sign AKC litter papers.
I have forwarded all information to the proper authorities to see if they can have criminal charges brought against them.

Learn from MY mistake, DO NOT have ANY dealings with Aaron Pickard or Bob Cox. Buyer beware!!
