Shops, Products, Services

On April 8, I went to a local cingular store in Chicago and applied for a cell service for a 30 days free trial period.

On April, 24 I went back to the same store, cancelled the service and returned their phones. The sales person gave me a receipt the phones and a Total Amount Due = 0.00

I got a bill from cingular in couple of weeks of $456.93. I went back to the store and asked the sales person about it. He called Cingular and found out that they were charging me for the phones since it did not show on their record. He sorted out everything with CS and told me that all would be taken care.

In the middle of June, I was shocked to receive a call from the collection agency demanding the immediate payment of $456.93 their fees. I got furious and called cingular CS. This time I spoke to a supervisor and she apoligized and filled out all the details on a form and told me that everything would be all right within 48 hours and someone would call me.

Last week, a lady called me and told me that she was giving me a credit of some $375.00 but I still have to pay them about $77.00. I asked her to send me the new bill and I would review the charges. She said she could not send me the new bill showing this amount. She could send me the bill showing the old charge of $456.93. I told her that I would not pay anything and instead of aplogizing for all the troubles they have caused me, once again they were showing how insensitive, wrong and unprofessional they were. She said that she would then refer it to collection agency. I have been receiving the calls from the collection agency since then. They still want me to pay them $456.93 their charges.

It is beyond my comprehension how incompetent they are. All of this is on their computer and I have the receipt and the tracking number with me. Their slogan "Raising the Bars" applies to consumer's blood pressure and it has nothing to do with their quality.
