Demeaned me for using food stamps and spat at me ripoff

Today I went to the above-said establishment to buy the necessary items for an elegant dinner party. I carefully selected the items over two hours to make sure everything was just right. Among my items were two Maine lobsters, 4 pounds of shrimp, 8 filet mignons, fresh baked goods from the bakery, and of course fine wine. The staff was quite helpful as I was making my selections, and even suggested some delicacies to balance out the affair.

However, when it came time to check out, all of that changed. As I handed the clerk my foodstamps to pay for my items, the clerk became vehemently rude and almost violent. He reached for the microphone on the side of his cash register and announced that I was paying for "luxury items, " as he called it. With food stamps! The gall of him! He was clearly out to embarras me.

He then demanded that I pay for the items in some other manner. I informed him that legally he needs to accept my foodstamps because that is what they are for — food! He then completed ringing up my transaction, and promptly spat at me when I turned to leave! I could hardly believe this treatment.

I called the store manager when I returned home, and he did not seem to care.in fact, he almost defended his lousy clerk, stating that they are tired of "food stamp abusers, " whatever that is. Can't a person go into a store and pay with food stamps and have a little respect these days?!
