Late Fee Charged After Online Payment Made on Due Date

Sears Mastercard has apparently become quite arrogant with its best customers after merging with Kmart. I regularly pay all my charge bills online, in full every month. My last Sears payment in full was made through their online payment service on the due date, 5/20. They charged a late fee because it takes "2-5 days to post online payment." The post office is faster than their online payments. They then charged me a late fee of $39 and refused to remove it. Their policies are designed to charge opportunistic late fees, unlike many other charge card companies.

Guess what? I will pay the balance I owe in full, minus the late fee, and will shred the card. I will never do business with Sears again, which, by the way, amounts to about $2000 a year in merchandise on average.
