Ripoff Slow delivery of product incomplete product slow pay on refund, no pay on refund, are they still in busines?

Last spring I followed up on a TV ad I'd seen.
I paid the money and got the info packet. After doing what I thought was due diligence I took a leap of faith and bought a total of 8 machines last summer.

The locator found me locations and rates I don't think I could have gotten on my own (along with the price, that's why I bought 8). With their help I got all the requirements in place. Then I waited (not idly) until late fall to get my first machine. I had machines #2 & #3 by year end, but one of those had a non-working CD dispenser.

In November I canceled unit #8 and we agreed to a monthly payback arrangement (even though I had to pay 100% up front on the original purchases). I have seen only 3 payments so far. After a couple of frustrating conversations I gave notice to cancel units #7 & #6. At the first of this year I was delivered unit #4 with NO CD dispenser, with the explanation that they thought it would be better to have something rather than nothing. I immediately canceled unit #5. As it stands, they owe me 2 functioning CD dispensers, installed, and the price of 4 machines minus 3 payments.

After a disappointing conversation with Jack Teitelbaum I filed a complaint with the SE Florida BBB. NID's response was predictable and not satisfactory. The BBB just informed me (5/31/06) that NID did not reply to my rebuttal and that I may want to file a complaint with the FTC and Florida State Attorney General. I am doing both.

Over the last couple of days the National Imaging Distributors website, has gone off-line and I was notified that Sunrise Technical Group is no longer honoring NID's service plan!

I have contacted a FL-based lawyer but I don't know if I can come up with the retainer fees for them to start legal proceedings.in the brief conversation I have had with the attorney he feels I have a good chance of winning, but a poor chance of collecting. Also, with other factors considered, NID as a legitimate business or a fraud may come into play. Comments requested and stay tuned. Thank you for letting me vent and "Buyer Beware"
