RIPOFF Foreign company billed for no service no credit for returned equipment

I contacted Vonage for phone service in early April 06. The contact person stated that Vonage "is" compatible with Dish Network Satellite service. I went through the 35 minute phone call with all of the confusing 911 registration, and terms of service agreement.

I did not receive the modem till 9 days later. When I tried to hook it up to the dish receiver it was not compatible. I immediately called DISH to see if I was doing something wrong. They informed me that "Vonage" is not compatible with DISH. I called "Vonage" and was on hold for 45 minutes.

When I finally spoke to an individual, I could not understand a word they were saying. I gave the phone to my fiance and asked him to deal with them. He asked where the person he was speaking to was located and they said New Jersey, USA. Long story short I sent the modem backa nd it was received on April 29th by Vonage. I called to find out when I would get credit back on my debit card and they stated that it takes 10-15 business days. That was on May 13.

I haven't gotten a credit on my bank statement yet and also noticed this evening 5-30-06 that they also charged my bank account $27.78. So once again I called back to find out what was going on. The man I spoke to told me the only call they ever received from me was handled by one of their employees in INDIA!

This is the call placed for cancellation by myself and my boyfriend. I am just sick over this! Not only has this sompany ripped me off for the original amount of $44.95 but they also too another $27.78.

To what end?! How do I stop them from further billing me? Please be warned to save a few bucks is not worth the hassle and aggravation that I am going through! And since when is there a state in India named New Jersey?
