AKA Melody's Toys Internet Scammer - breeder lies & steals and never delivers - then keeps your money

Melody's Toys, AKA Melody and Ron Gravitt of Talihina OK, is a true representation of an Internet scammer. Sadly, besides breaking people's hearts and causing financial difficulties by keeping money and lying about paying it back if they ever do, supposedly run an animal rescue shelter and are probably abusing the dogs they receive.

We also entered into a contract to buy a poodle that was to be shipped on March 17th. They never shipped the dog. Saying they were out of town for an emergency with a sick baby that has a bad heart, they left their home and puppies in the care of a family member named Shelly Hoppis.

According to the local police, they recieved several complaints in addition to mine around the same time. April or so 2005.

They Police did pay them a visit and called me to let me know they were told to pay us back...

Well a ton of lies and excuses have come and gone, along with token 25 dollar payments only after I wrote them a reminder email. Bad checks. Yes so far one. But they just paid me off with two seperate checks and I am holding my breath waiting for them to clear. My husband is on SS disability and I have recently become disabled and can no longer work. We have two grandchildren living with us and a mentally challenged adult daughter. Our income plummeted to less than one third of what it was and if these checks bounce we will suffer severe financial hardship. I am selling off anything of value on Ebay right now to make ends meet but they are tooo far apart. This will kill us. We have difficulty paying our mortgage right now and almost lost the house once because I believed their lies.

AFter being notified by someone tonight who saw my post on another forum - where you can leave emails addresses and contact information - I found this site and I am FURIOUS. I plan to purue this starting with the local police. They were pretty cool.

They maintain a website on AOL an have updated puppies listed all the time. When I confront them, they saw they sell for friends. Right!
