Ripoff mystery shady please read this los angeles

Hello Everyone,

I am a long time owner of a 2 1/2 acre parcel at Melby Ranch, formerly Wild Horse Mesa in San Luis, NM. Great American Properties was the company I purchased the land from originally at a selling price of $1850.00. I purchased the land in 1972.

About 6 weeks ago, Melby Ranch Properties, LLC mailed me information about buying my 2 1/2 acre parcel for $5000.00, but for only a limited time. It was important for me to send them copies of all the Deads on the land, which I did. I signed an agreement to sell the property for the offering price of $5000.00. They would in turn, issue me a check and send the proper paper work to sign the land over to them. They told me to sign the issued check and deposit it and make sure the check had cleared, then sign the papers and have them notorized. I had no problem with that agenda.

Now for the problem. It has been 6 weeks or so and still no payment has been received. I have made numerous phone calls to Melby Ranch. I was first told that there was a very large turn out of people who wanted to sell their land to Melby Ranch and things had gotten backed-up. Each time I called I was told they could only process so many contracts. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Finally, I was told that my check had been mailed out on a Friday. It's been 8 days now and no check. I called them (AGAIN) and they could not find where a check had been issued in the owners name. I called AGAIN* and was told the book keeper was out of the office. I called AGAIN* and told she was going to be late today. I called AGAIN* and was told she wouldn't be in today. I ask to talk to The owner of Melby Ranch, I was told he was "OUT OF THE COUNTRY". Well that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Today, after numerous calls and attempts the past 6 weeks, I told Melby Ranch the property I own is no longer for SELL. Forget it!!! I will will just hold on to the 2 1/2 acres and get a better price, on down the road. I suspect something is going on anyway, since Melby Ranch sent out the letter wanting to buy!!!

Lord only knows, something needs to happen at this property site, I have owned this land for 34 years and there just hasn't been a whole lot of activity in the San Luis area.
