Great Expectations
False Advertising on Hiring, Now that I see all complaints, We all know WHY? Ripoff

Shops, Products, Services

Great Expectations is advertising on line for hiring sales reps though Monster Jobs, which they have many positions to hire, the one I applied for was inside sales which stated salary/wage 40,000-60,000 USD/year. I was called for a job interview and was told by Ed Allen over the phone that all the inside sales reps had already been hired, but since I had such a great marketing manager background, that is just what he needs to hire now, and they would give me a base salary of 50,000/year plus performance bonuses and incentatives, which I would honestly make at least 80,000-95,000 my first year.

I thought great and set up a interview. I looked them back up on the monster job site, and there was the job for a Telemarketing Manager, confirming the salary and bonuses as Ed stated. I went to the interview, and thought the application they had me fill out asked to many questions, not like a normal application, they even wanted to know what hospital I was born in?

I interviewed with Ed Allen, and felt he was avoiding my questions? (Something seemed strange) He then told me that corporate policy had just been changed and he could only pay me $13-15.00 per hour, no bonuses, and if my commissions exceeded my hourly pay, I would only get either just the hourly pay or the commissions what ever amount was higher.

He was very interested in hiring me, and showed me around the location, he walked me in to the telemarketing room COMPLETELY EMPTY. I asked him where are all the inside sales reps? He said that is why I need a marketing manager, you will hire and train them in??? BUT Remember on the phone he said they were all filled, and wasn't hiring any sales reps?
I knew many things were not right, but could not place what was going on.

He hired me to start on monday, but stated he would call me the next day to confirm that his corporate office ran everything though and could pay 15.00 hr. He did call the next day, (Asking am I coming in for the job?) and now wanted to lower my pay, that is all corporate could allow to pay?

I stated your ad and yourself stated 50,000.00 yr bonuses, you keep changing what you said. I also asked many questions on bonuses, benefits and I needed a commission schedule faxed over to me, he did agree to do that much. He would not answer my questions and rushed to get off the phone! Said we can go over it all on monday, etc. He never faxed me anything I asked for. I turned down other interviews, by excepting this job and lost out on other jobs.

BUT THANK GOD FOR THIS WEB SITE, as my monday to start at a company like this WILL NEVER COME. (BEWARE) HOW CAN THEY STAY IN BUSINESS? Taking advantage of everyone they seem to come in contact with.
