SBC - -YAK COMMUNICATIONS ripoff I don't even use a phone line to connect to internet

I am a hearing impared person, my regular phone bill is $56.00 at the most, last month my billing came up to $156.14. I complained but nothing happenend and they did not explain anything. This time the company was USBI billing for calls to Austria

But OH! Surprise! This month the bill is for $1,275.64. Today I called to complained and for the first time they told me that it was Modem Highjackin, My cable company provides the internet service, I don;t use a phone modem for my internet, and of course this month the calls were handle by non other than SBC Long Distance. And that of course was my responsability to buy the program to protect myself, I wonder if they also sell it.

Someone has to stop this companies that happily provide the service to this highjackers. My only income is the SSI check and it is not $1,275.64.

Can someone help me, please I don't have the money to pay for this rip-off and don't want to ruin my credit and have collector calling me all the time.
