My husband and I purchased a dinnette set with 8 chairs from Harlem Furniture. Knowing that my husband and I do alot of entertaining, we thought it wise to purchase a warranty for the fabric and wood of the dinette set from Harlem (provided by StainSafe). I immediately (within 5 days of delivery noticed that an ink-like stain appeared to be seeping thru the cushions of the chairs (which are tan in color). I was able to get them somewhat clean with a wet sponge (water). A week later same type of stains appeared again on all the chairs. Again, I tried to clean stains and again was somewhat successful.
Again, the stains appeared. I started to wonder if the stains weren't caused by the scotchguard applied. I attempted to file a claim with Stainsafe today.
First, let just say the customer service rep, Patricia, had about as much personality as a ink stained chair.
After drilling me about purchase date, delivery date, and when did the stain occur, and what was the stain, she gave me a claim number, put me on hold and then denied the claim. I then asked to speak to a manager, she connected me to Charles, Manager (or in his mind, God) who told me the claim is denied due to the fact that I could not tell him what the stains were and the fact that I did not file claim within 5 days of occurrence. I asked to speak to his manager, he replied by saying that He was as far as this claim was going to go. I asked him if He owned the company, to which he replied "No" but "again this is as far as your claim is going", he then hung up.
I called Harlem furniture, and spoke with Daja in customer service. She was trying to be helpful. She did schedule a representative from Harlem to come out and "look" at the chairs next week.
I then called
