Ripoff of a deposit after canceling a contract after its 2 years

After getting ripped off for nearly 2 years I couldnt wait for January to roll around to wipe the slate clean with Alltel. I went to the store where I purchased the phone and told them that I wanted to cancel my contract and would like my $500.00 deposit back that they took from me to start this horrible service. I was told that they did not refund money at the stores, and it had to be done via check from the financial department of the company (Alltel). They gave me the number of 1-800-672-2051. I called this number and talked to a woman that said that my service had not been disconected and that she could not and would not issue a refund. So they transfer me to Customer Service where a man canceled the account, gave me a cancelation number and said he would transfer me back to Financial to have them issue the check. This was Jan. 26.

I thought the check would arrive today Feb 4 since it had been 7 days and the lady said it would only take 4-5 day to receive it.

I called them again today and they said that they were billing me for another month cause the phone service had not been canceled as it was, mind you this is after I had a cancelation number.

I was transfered back to finacial service and she said that it would not be refunded due to some techinical issues, and it would take 24-48 hours for a supervisor to approve. Oh and did I mention that they are taking 70.00 out of my 500.00 refund to pay for this month even though I have no service with them?

So i continue to fight these crooked legal theives to try to get what little bit of money i will have coming to me once they take out way more than their fair share. Its Saturday so I cant get a hold of the Corporate Office.

I sincerely believe I will file a complaint with the Better Business Burea though for this one. This stunt really takes the cake. Say no to altell.
