Last year I set up a toll free number with Broad Voice for use in am emergency situation. At one point when I did not think that I was going to use the service I inquired about putting the account into a "vacation" mode.instead the people there that apparently don't understand the english language cancelled my account and charged my credit card a $50 disconnect fee causeing over other things to bounce including a $30 over the limit fee from Capital One. I finally got that straightened out but never reimbursed for the credit card fees that they caused me.

Recently when I actually needed the toll free number I found out that they had cancelled it and given it to someone else. After talking to them and discovering that they were not going to do a darn thing besides crediting me with enough to add a new toll free number back in. I decided that I was going to remove the credit card info that they had. They make this darn close to impossible as you can not remove a credit card number without providing another valid one. It seems that they are screwing so many people over that they must hold your credit card number hostage in order to get paid.

Anyhow I did manage to get the info screwed up enough that they would not get paid until they attended to my problem. They had cost me untold hours fixing web sites with this info, changing business cards, emailing people that may have had the old number, updating my own data bases with the number... On and on and on...

So the next trick pulled by our friends at BroadVoice was to cancel my account and to somehow again charge my credit card with $50 disconnect fee. On one hand they claim the account was cancelled because they did not have the correct credit information and that I owed them less than a $1 for the last month.

But then speaking out of the other side of their mouth they somehow "found" the missing credit card the same one they couldn't charge the owed dollar to and again charged a $50 disconnect fee.

I have filed 2 FCC complaints form 475 I believe they are called. Google "FCC telephone complaint forms " if you ever want to do like wise.

The bottom line is that they have just caused my an additional 4 or 5 hours.

Be forwarned if you think that Vonnage is any better I just helped a friend try to set up a Vonnage softphone account and they screwed things up so badly that he cancelled within 24 hours of the order and they did everything possible that they could to make that difficult.
