American Tax Relief
Ripoff misleading, unfair business practices, fraud Los Angeles California

Shops, Products, Services

After contacting American Tax relief, and talking to their representitive, I was led to believe I was in expert hands, and representation would begin upon payment of $4100.00.

We followed direction for payment and required paper work
to the letter. We felt we were in capable hands.

We now know American Tax relief did not follow the guidlines as set forth in ours and their contract. According to the IRS, our Power of Attorney was removed shortly after payment, and American Tax relief never contacted the IRS on our behalf again.

It was only after months of unanswered calls to them, and unanswered letters, that I called the IRS myself. Only to find we were never represented by American Tax Relief.

I again called American tax Relief to urgently request a call back concerning the IRS. I received a call back from American Tax Relief, but not to offer an explanation, only to inform us, in order to continue as our representitives, we would need to pay an additional$4600.00 for their services, they went on to say "someone had dropped the ball". I was threatened my credit card would be charged if I refused payment. So frightened did I become, I cancelled the credit card for fear it would be debited.

I asked what had they used the previous payment for, as the IRS. Claimed they were never contacted by them in our representation? At this time I was treated with insults, threats, and accused of being a tax cheat. I hung up.

However, I have been writing to them, requesting acurate accounting information, I have not heard back.

I do not understand how American Tax Relief is able to continue doing business? In light of the fact so many people including ourselves have fallen victom to their advertisements. Nor do I understand how reputable advertisers allow them to continue advertising? As far as I am concerned this is a deliberate and intentional means to accept payment from people who are frightened and in dire need of expert help and advice, promising help that is never intended, and leaving them in a situation far more grave.

I contacted the Attorney General of Caifornia, and asked for their intervention. A letter was sent on my behalf to American Tax Relief and an answer was received.

I was aghast at the contents of that letter, not only is it full of misleading information but the lack of truthfullness is without definition.

I ask other victims of American Tax Relief, to contact the Attorney Generals Office, to request an investigation into their business practices, and hold them liable to said practices.

I believe our monies should be refunded or at least partialy refunded so that we can pay some of the penalties and interest accrued by the lack of representation by American Tax Relief.

Thank You
