After several phone call from a verizon yellowpage salesman, i gave in and agreed to purchase a small ad for my business. I was billed 2 months prior to distribution. I called complaining that why should i pay so soon when the distribution is delayed, their response the contract states in the fine print that they can bill advertisers & still have 45 days to distribute.
Well, i never got a verizon yellowpage book, neither at my business locations, 2 insurance companies i deal with in my area, my tax accountant, my attorney & none of my family has recieved a copy which is about 8 different addresses in palm beach county.
I was switched back & forth from billing to the distribution manager who claims that verizon has hired a 3rd party to deliver the books and he claims it's been done & the investigation of my complaint is over. 30 phone calls later & no one helps or cares.
I have recieved several phone calls from collection agencies & the last one said that verizon is a big company, just pay the bill otherwise it will go on your credit report along with attorney fees etc. He said verizon covers their butt very well so you have no chance & just pay the bill. His final words: "i will be calling you every week for payment."
I ask any new customers how did they hear about our company & 6 months later, i haven't heard verizon yellow pages yet. I do ask which yellow pages of course. Harrasment! That is how they expect to get paid. I have even told two of their employees that i can 3 way phone calls to the anyone they want to ask if they have recieved a verizon phone book. They don't care! They just want the $.
It is sad on how people get ripped off so easily. The fine print on their contracts that no one would read or understand because it is so complicated & long. They are a ripoff!!
