Direct TV - GoDish
Bruce Gervason Lied about price, introductory offers and contents of service Internet

Shops, Products, Services

I have been trying to get the Yankee games and YES network locally at my home in Mendon, Vermont.

Unfortunately, my local cable provider, Adelphia, does not provide the YES channel in their programming.
Hopefully, someday this may change. Adelphia is a reliable and honest local company here.

I called GoDish.com at 800-900-7006 and spoke with an operator BRUCE GERVASON at extension 253. He assured me I would get ALL the Yankee games broadcast by YES network if I signed up for the Direct TV 'Sports Pack' carried by Direct TV. I have since learned this is pure fiction as the games are blacked because my town is outside the New York regional sports area. Bruce was well aware of my state and city location from the initial questions he asked me for the Direct TV application.

Additionally, the Direct TV customer service personnel and technicians I have spoken to are also willing to perpetuate this bald face lie. The customer service is absolutely terrible.

You either speak to someone in Idaho or Oklahoma who know nothing about your local programming and have no access to any information to assist you. One woman in Idaho asked me if the Red Sox are a baseball team.

Bruce also openly lied about the cost of the packages, stating there was a "special" for Direct TV, Premier Choice Plus package for $29.95 for 12 months, with a free HBO/Starz/Cinemax or Showtime premium channel choice.

Bruce said I could swap the three month free premium channel for the Sports Pack, and then pay $12 a month for it after that.

For clarification I made him repeat the offer, and he clearly stated that "the $29.95 charge for the Premium Choice Plus would continue for one year as would the $12 charge for the Sports Pack", but the first three months of Sport Pack are free.

Bruce stated a confirmation call would be coming later that day, no one ever called. Three days later I called GoDish.com and spoke to Bruce shortly, he told me he was busy with another customer and would call me later.

He never returned the call. I called again the following day and spoke to another representative who looked up my order and said "you're all set".

I later learned only after have the dishes were installed and ruined the side of my house, not to mention causing an electric short circuit in my basement, that Bruce sold me a pack of lies. After the installation, the Direct TV people denied knowing anything of the contents of the package sold to me and proceeded to attempt to sell me entirely what I did not order.

After initially denying the package ever existed they then said it expired after 7/31. After I told them I made the order on 7/31, the story changed again. The $29.95 was for three months only and there is no premium channel intro offer at all for first three months. They even got Bruce on the phone after I gave them the number and extension. He denied everything he clearly told me when I made the order. He said he has been doing this for three years.

When I asked him what he did before that he shot back that he was a "petro-chemical engineer making over 100K/year and if I could ever match that, buddy." Real class act. I guess Bruce does quite well at GoDish.com to leave a job pumping gas that pays 100k.

The technician told me someone would call back to arrange the programming and left me with no service at all.

After three hours, I had to call them, and again they were completely ignorant to my order. Keep in mind, each time you call them it takes what feels like an eternity to get a human on the line.

After much explanation I had them activate the features I had originally ordered, including the sports pack with the YES network.

Only then after using the system a few hours did I learn of the lies and misrepresentation concerning the absence of actual Yankee games and replays outside of New York.

After hours of aggravation on the phone all weekend, and taking hours to cancel this service, they will not come over and remove the equipment. They will only allow you to return the set top tuner in a Fed Ex box you must be home to accept.

I don't know what they are going to try to charge me
but I did cancel within 24 hours of being activated.

I would greatly appreciate any all help on your part to stop this practice by GoDish.com and Direct TV.
