Ripoff Think I've Been Scammed

I'm baffled and angry.

For the last two weeks I've received daily phone computerized voice mails warning me I must call 866 505 8247 regarding "my account."

I returned six of these calls, always to another voice mail. Today I had some extra time, so I called the above number again and again until I got an actual person.

This guy from "First Credit of America" said they were collecting a debt of $59.95 for uncancelled services ordered from "My Perfect Credit."

I told him I had no idea what he was talking about. He said I had accessed the myperfectcredit web site, utilized a service, and had failed to cancel my membership within five days as explained in some fine print.

I told him I never received a bill for any service, that this was the first time I had heard of a problem.

He advised me that my credit rating could be jeopardized if I didn't clear this claim.

I was so weary of these constant messages that, against my better instincts, I gave him my credit card information, which he charged against the "debt, " plus a $5 "access fee."

I then tried to call myperfectcredit @ 877 469 7333 but couldn't connect to any actual person.

I then called VISA and my credit union, who both admonished me for offering my credit card information over the phone.

At this point, I'll watch my online VISA transactions carefully, and will dispute this and any other dubious charges on my card.

Finally, if this bogus issue affects my 793 credit score I will sue these *!
