Resort Equity Marketing
Ripoff lied to us don't let them get away with it!

In January we were contacted by Heather Allen at Resort Equity Marketing regarding our interest in selling our timeshares at Island Links in Hilton Head. Of course we were interested as our resorts'management fee had increased substantially over the 6 years we owned it and especially after Heather Allen assured us we could get over $20,000 for one unit and rent the other for at least $2,000 for a week.

Supposedly, Fortune 500 companies were clamoring for these properties and would pay top dollar. How gullible/greedy were we?

I thought we did our homework and checked the Orange County Chamber of Commerce website and BBB and paid the $685 in February. The only thing we didn't do is talk to satisfied customers who were probably few and far between. Heather guaranteed our success within 180 days or we would recieve 2 free airline tickets to a variety of worldwide destinations. We figured we had nothing to loose because we were planning a trip to see our daughter in Spain next year and those tickets would be worth well over $685.

After 2 months of absolutely no contact from potential buyers, I tried to get in touch with Heather but was rerouted to a very rude "customer service" person. I was immediately suspicious when they seemed ambivalent on the phone and pulled out the guarantee.

I could kick myself for not originally reading the fine print outlining the requirement to stay in their hotels. I know how that works. I just wish I had seen this site before we dumped $685!!! We are very angry and would love to see a class action law suit filed against REM.
