On April 29th we sent out for estimates on the computer for a move from Louisiana to NC. We also had a man from our town come and do a walk through and give us a price. After getting all the bids, of course, Nationwide was the cheapest and we decided to go with them because " Chuck" had been so nice and helpful during our conversations.

I informed him that we were moving our stuff from our home to a storage unit in NC. He told me no problem just make sure an 18 wheeler can fit in there, so I did. I told him we needed move dates of 24 or 25th of May. We were closing on our home the 27th and that would give me a couple of days to clean and get ready for the closing. After the man came and done an actual walk through from a different company, I called Chuck and told him they had estimated 10,995 weight. He told me at that time that they always over estimate and that I should just leave mine at 10,017 lbs.

Of course once they got my deposit things turned for the worse then. On May 16th our driver called and said he had a car trailor and would be there on the dates requested. Once I heard car trailor I called "Tonya" on the 17th and informed her that he said he was coming with a trailor that I didn't think would be big enough, that Chuck had led me to believe that they would be using an 18 wheeler.

She told me not to worry that they driver knew what he was doing and that the trailor would be big enough. I asked well what if it isn't. Her reply was well that had never happened and if it was to then we would cross that bridge when it happened.

After that it got even worse. Our driver called and said that he was held up in another state with the law because the girl didn't want to pay him (I can only imagine why) and that he would not be there to move our stuff. We started calling frantically trying to see if they had someone to replace him, to no suprise no one would answer the phone.

We got voice mail 19 times in one day. My husband finally called and acted like he need a quote for moving and guess what they answered the phone, what a way to do business. Still no phone calls and on Tuesday no mover. On Wednesday, no mover. They called Thursday and wanted to know how the move was going, and my husband asked them " what move?" The driver that was held up in another state finally called us back and said he was on the way, but it would be Friday at lunch time before he would be there.

Needless to say he showed up at 11:55 and we were closing on our house at 3:00. My husband had to go ahead and break down all the beds and mirrors. We had to help load stuff all day and then we were charged for boxes to protect our stuff that we never recieved, $261.43. My husband went to our closing and came back then the new buyers came to move into their new house and guess what, we werent no where near finished.

Finally at 7:00pm he said, that's it I can't hold anymore stuff. We were like, What are we going to do now? He said get a Uhaul, and where at 7:00 on Memorial Day weekened do you think we are going to get a trailor? We had already rented a truck two days prior just to put our stuff in and try to get some of it our of the house so we could be cleaning. So all of my neighbors chipped in together and helped us finish loading the rest of our stuff in the around town truck.

We ended up having to go and spend the night with one of our friends and get up the next morning and find a trailor to take the rest of our stuff to NC. I have pictures of this disaster, all the uhauals and us having to move our own stuff.By the time we finished it ended up costing us more than the other quotes were for the move.

Once we were in NC the driver demanded CASH only and of course our weight was 10,990, as I had tried to tell them before. We had to unload our own uhaul and have all kinds of extra expenses. No one will call us back, no one is authorized to give us a refund.

I am so furious and would like to know if anyone knows what direction we need to head in next. I am also going to file a complaint with the BBB in Fl. Maybe a lawyer? This has ended up being the move from — .
