Ripoff, Driver for company had an unsecured barrell on back of truck. Damaged my vehicle and refused to pay the full estimate

My 21 year old son was driving on the highway behind an area business truck. They were traveling close to 70 mph when an unsecured barrel slid off their truck and hit the front of his car. He stayed the course on the busy highway, they both pulled over and the police were called by my son. The rip off business did not want to go through their insurance to pay damages as their driver received a ticket for failure to have a tarp over the barrels scurely.

It took over two weeks of constant phone calls to the rip off business, their insurance agent, and I even had to go & pay to pick up the police report myself. When my son tried to speak with the rip-off business, their secretary kept hanging up on him. How professional was that?!

The rip off business finally offered a dollar amount to settle. I took it & thank goodness my local body shop agreed to fix my sons car with the money I had to settle on. The rip off business called the body shop and questioned his estimate of the damage. The rip off business refused to pay $85 dollars of the estimate. The body shop owners'son graduated high school with my son.

I picked up the check, immediately cashed it. I came home and immediately reported them to the NYS Better Business Bureau.

We are honest people and my sons car is a Certified Used Toyota Corolla. He takes excellent care of his vehicle. This whole ordeal was time consuming and very frustrating to say the least. The vehicle is in the shop presently and will be finished by the end of this week.
