Charged Me After Cancelling Raeford, North Carolina fradulent, misleading

When I signed up, I was aware of the fact that I would need to cancel before the free trial ended in order to NOT be charged. So I canceled within a week after signing up. Here I am, 3 weeks later, looking at my credit card statement and I have a charge from CIC Credit Monitoring. I distinctly remember calling the 888 number and getting a message saying that I should e-mail my request, which is what I did.
Now I have to call again and try and get it cancelled (and maybe a refund?). But from the sounds of the other reports, I think I'm hoping for too much.
