I recieved a yellow postcard recently. I have recieved them in the past but never responded. This time I wanted to see what all the hype was about.

I called the 1-800 number on the back of the card and was directed to a representative who immediatly started spouting out all of these things I had either won or was entered to win. She was very friendly but spent little time explaining to me before she whisked me off to another representative.

The second representative asked me if the first one had been relatively nice to me. I had to agree. She didn't curse, yell, or belittle me. She was nice enough. The second representative asked my year of birth... 1984. Not old enough to win the car, but old enough to win the cash and old enough for them to not feel bad about scamming me.

She asked if I had any questions... Not really. Cash, and a lot of it, does a lot for people. Who cares about the billions of magazines I had tied in with it. I had a chance to win that cash!

When she got to the part about my credit card, I finally got it. You see, I work for a bank. I work with customers who, everyday get scammed out of their money through the internet, phone deals and fraudulant grant notices.
I told the representative that I was wary about disclosing my information to her and she stated that they were protected by law not to disclose my information to anyone else. Good answer but not the one I was looking for.

She then started going on about how great a deal this magazine package was. I have magazines... And too many of them. I rarely have a chance to read them. Why would I want more?

I thanked the representative for her time and let her know that at this time I was not interested in what she had to sell to me.

Knowing that I couldn't be bought, she hung up on me without a question. That's that. Don't disclose any information to this company. They are only there to try to make a quick dollar from YOUR wallet.
