Sprint PCS/Calvary Portfolio Svces ripoffed and can't prove it after house fire

When trying to get approved for a new mortgage, the bank found a delinquent account on my boyfriends credit report from Calvary Portfolio. Back in 2001 we cancelled the Sprint phone because we had a house fire (total loss including cell phone) and Sprint refused to replace the phone (Why do we pay Sprint Phone Insurance every month?) at no charge so we got mad and cancelled the account. We paid the final bill.

A few months later Calvary sent us a notice to pay $250 for breaking the contract. Why didn't Sprint send us anything? We eventually paid it off ($265) after fighting with them. Haven't heard a thing from them in 3 years but when we contacted them last month they don't have him as paying the debt??? And now it's up to $318 due to interest??? It's been a hard 3 years trying to get another home and they are preventing us from getting it due to the inaccurate reporting on his credit report.

Even if we do pay it a second time, will the payment mysterily disappear again? I'm so glad I came across this webpage looking for Calvary's Consumer Affairs webpage!
