We just moved to South Carolina in Dec, 05 from Fla. We wanted to make a fresh start since the cost of living in Fla had increased faster than the income you could make from any job. I took my dog Kodi to banfield vet on Harbison Blvd. He was due for vaccinations on march 1. I gave them the records from his vet in Fla. I even explained to them that he had alleric reactions to shots in the past and that the vet gave him a shot of bendryl about thirty mins prior to giving him any shots. They suggested that I leave him with them so they could watch him for the day and promised me that they would take good care of him.

This was Kodi's first and last visit. I was in shock when only two hrs from the time I dropped him off they called to tell me he was dead! I found out later when I got the vet on the phone that she went to check on him and then noticed that his gums were pale and he had thrown up his breakfast.By this time it was already too late for my beloved kodi. What was the reason they were not watching him like they promised me. What was more important than my dog?

The vet then tryed to help him when he started to go into shock but could not find his veins. I just recently told a hospital nurse this story and asked her why they did not inject a shot in his heart when they could not find his veins. She said they could have. Why did they not do all they could for my dog?

I have come to the conclusion that they did not care it was not their dog and they were negligent in their handling of Kodi. I hurt inside and feel as though my heart has been torn out he was my first baby. I would not have taken him there if i would have known. I have tryed to at least give them the chance to pay me the cost of kodi.

I have heard nothing from them and they don't care. I will take them to court it is not the money but the principle that no dog should have to suffer they way he did and neither should another family. Kodi used to sleep with us and had even gone to Petsmart training class as a pup. He was prepared for my son which was born in july of 04. They were so good together my son Cameron had even learned to pet him.

I have found complaints on this company which is inside of Petsmart store. The complaints I have found are from Fla, Georia, and now mine in South Carolina. Please don't take your animal there ever! Kodi was only four in a half yrs old and should have lived until he was ten or twelve.

I have also contacted the news station and hope they do a story on this. If there are more people out there that have had a bad experience with Banfield Vet please get your word out there by telling people and the internet. This is all I can do for kodi now is fight until the end.
