Premier Movie Pass - Premier Benefits
Premier Movie Pass Ripoff Premier Benefits scam through check by phone - asking for the digits at the bottom of my check

Shops, Products, Services

Here are some things to think about when you get the call. They called me about 9:20PM March 14th. It was an "unknown name, unknown number" on my caller ID. When they said they were conducting a promotional event for "Premier Benefits" I was immediately suspicious. Sales companies almost never block their number and usually noe their name in my experience.

They told me that my address has been selected to recieve a $200 shopping spree good at stores such as J.C. Penny, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and a few more. I would also revieve 48 free DVD rentals, and four free movie passes. They only asked that call back to answer some questions when I finished with the movie passes.

The movie passes are "... Only good for 1 week after I recieve them..." but "... The $200 could be used anytime within 8 months.." They did not mention any details about the 48 DVD rentals. That was suspicious to me because most businesses are very thorough about their restrictions.

Something else very strange to me was that the guy kept asking if I understood "each and every thing" they were offering. He repeated the "offer" many times and asked, again, if I understood "each and every thing" they were offering. There were other oddities in their language that signaled to me that these were NOT professionals.

The guy asked if he could transfer me to his supervisor to confirm the order. He also asked me if I understood "each and every thing" they were offering. When I said yes he said that all they ask is for me to pay $3.95 shipping in the form of a check-by-phone and may he please have the digits at the bottom of my check. I confirmed that all I have to do is pay $3.95 for shipping and answer some survey questions and that is it. He said that he would send me the papers for the survey but I am under no obligation to fill them out. What papers? The last guy said to call an 800 number to do the survey. Whoops.

I asked, "Who are you guys?" He answered, "Premier Benefits." I asked him, "How do I know you are a legitimate business?" He said to go to his web site www.premiermoviepass.com. It was 4 pages of simple web stuff. That proved nothing. Anyone can have a website under any name. I then asked if he had a business license and could I please have the number. He said that they were not permitted to give it out. (HUH?!) I asked him to call me back tomorrow around 9:00 PM. He said that he would try.

I immediately began research for this business. No listings with any business search sites I used. That is when I found consumer complaints.com
