ShopKo Christmas trees went on sale last weekend and I needed 8 of the same tree. There were none available in any of my local ShopKo stores, so I purchased 8 Multi-color lighted trees online. When I purchased them, their status read: "In Stock". I needed them as soon as possible, so I kept watching my ShopKo account to see when they were shipped. I didn't see anything happening for a couple of days, so I sent an email to ShopKo's Customer Service Department. Within two hours I received a response from Barbie, telling me that 4 of my trees would be shipped that day, and 4 of my trees would be shipped three days later. Within minutes of receiving that email, I received two other emails from ShopKo. One email told me that 4 of my trees had shipped, and the other email told me that the other 4 trees were cancelled. I immediately called ShopKo's Customer Service number. An agent answered and I told her about the conflicting emails I had just received. She looked up my order and told me that 4 trees were shipped and 4 trees were cancelled. I told her about the email from Barbie that told me the other 4 trees would be shipped at a later date. She went to check with her supervisor. She came back on the line and told me that Barbie was correct, and the last 4 trees I had ordered would be shipped three days later.
On the 3rd and 4th day I watched my ShopKo account, to see if the remaining 4 trees were shipping. I saw nothing, so I called the ShopKo Customer Service line and was connected to another agent. I explained the entire situation, and she told me the 4 trees were cancelled. I asked her to ask her supervisor about the 4 trees being shipped and not cancelled and when she came back on the phone, she told me that her supervisor told her that my remaining 4 trees were indeed cancelled and were not being shipped.
If I would have known three days previous, when I was told my remaining trees were coming in a later shipment, that I wasn't going to receive those trees, then I would have ordered 4 of the Clear-lighted trees to compensate for my missing 4 Multi-colored lighted trees. I NEEDED EIGHT TREES!
I asked the agent what could be done and she said there was nothing they could do. I asked if I could purchase 4 of the Clear-lighted trees (now off sale) for the sale price. She asked her supervisor and was told that after I placed the order, they would credit my account back $3 for each tree, so I would be paying for the sale price, instead of the full price. I placed my order for the trees, and since I needed them soon, I paid for Expedited Shipping (another $25).
Now, my first set of 4 trees is scheduled to deliver tomorrow, and my second set of 4 trees will arrive next week... BUT I was NEVER credited back the $3 for each tree purchased, AND I had to pay $25 for expedited shipping because they lied to me about shipping all the trees from my first order.
ShopKo lies about everything, and then lies to cover up their previous lies! How can we allow such companies to stay in business??
