AT&T Wireless - Cingular Wireless
Rip off, fraud, broke the fair credit reporting act, company is keeping me from opening up a business under my own name i have been dealing with this companys negligence for 2 yrs thus far, company needs to be stopped redmond washington

I started service with AT&T Wireless back in 2003. I had digital service at the time. During 2003 I had switched to the gsm service. The service was terrible. I was constantly dropping calls, phone would cut out, I would get echos constantly. The service was totally horrible.

I recieved an outrageous bill from AT&T for like 400 and something dollars. I immediately called customer service and told them I wanted to get out of my contract and cancel service. The customer service representative informed me there would be a fee of $175 for cancelling my contract early. I said that was fine. I sent a check for the entire amount it cleared through the bank. I was told my service was cancelled they apologized for any inconvience this may have caused me, they hoped I would choose them for service again in the near future THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING AT&T WIRELESS.

Little did I know that those 6 little words changed my life forever. I was AT&T free for about 4 months. I then recieved a bill for anthor $400 and something dollars from an outside collection agency. They had never sent me a final bill zeroed out, even though I sent final payment. I called AT&T as soon as I got the notice, all I could get out of them was you will have to contact the outside collection and take it up with them there is nothing we can do it has been written off thank you for choosing AT&T WIreless.

I contacted the outside collection agency to get a copy of the bill they said I owed. I was told they didnt have it I would have to contact AT&T recivables managment for the bill copy. They told me they couldnt guarantee me one all they could do is request it.

I have been fighting with this for the last 2 yrs still have not recieved a copy of the bill and have not gotten any positive response from AT&T and I have gotten no where. AT&T has destroyed my life, because of them I cant not start a business and get a loan from the bank because of this company's negligence. It is downright embaraasing I am not a deadbeat I pay my bills.

I have disputed this debt since day one for the last 2 yrs every time I get a notice from a new collection agnecy I dispute the debt. The law is when you dispute a debt the company has 30 days to validate the debt if they can not do it it must be removed from your credit. If the debt can be validate they must provide prove to the consumer about the disputed validated debt. This law is under the fair credit reporting act. Thus far the company has been unable to verify the debt they say I owe. I know I am not the only one with slaughtered credit because of AT&T Wireless.

Please anyone that reads my story please provide me with some feedback and do a report also. I believe one person can make a difference and we will stop being ignored. I beleive when everyone reads this report the rebuttals will be huge. Everyone we must band together as a unit and fight back this company must be stopped. Lets all band together and stop this monster so we can all have our lives back the way it was before at&t ever got a hold of it.
