ESBI (aka) Enhanced Services Billing Inc Fraudulent Billing through Local Telephone Bill

I found an extra $ 16.12 charge by ESBI Company on my local telephone statement today. The charge is for so call service "Privacy Plus Voicemail" for monthly service for December.

No one in the family recognized or authorized the company to charge on our local phone bill.in fact, we did not understand what the Privacy Plus Voicemail offers or can do for us.

When I called SBC, our local phone company, the representative did not have information of the ESBI Company and suggested me to contact the ESBI. The ESBI statement came in the SBC billing envelope had no company information except a phone number '1-888-298-3724".

When I tried to contact the ESBI Company several times at the listed number "1-888-298-3724", all I got was automated answering service. After I dial series of numbers on my phone keypad as instructed by the auto answering system, I was informed that the "Privacy Plus Voicemail box" was full and was instructed to dial "1" to disconnect. When I kept holding the phone line, the system said, "Please try again, Goodbye" and hung up. This happened eveytime I tried dialing the phone number.

I tried online to find out about the company and discovered that there was a similar report "Play Hardball with ESBI" made by a company in New York to the same ESBI Company.

I have instructed the local phone company to reverse the charge back to ESBI. If I receive a bill directly from them with the company information, I will post another report again with the details.

This ESBI Company is a scam and if you do experience a rip-off by it, I encourage you to report it.
