Customers lie, too!

Hi,

I work as a sale representative for, let's call it an ok company. Our average total on a job at the end comes to 30-50% more than the estimate, and our delivery is on time 80% of the time. There are restrictions in this country, but there are a lot of customers that try to con moving companies. They lie in the following way, they forget to list 1/2 of their shipment, lie about the number of flights of stairs to their apartment.

Our company does mostly international moves, so, for instance, in France a move to Paris metro area is $6.75 a cu foot, and a move to Lyon metro area is $9.75 a cu foot. A lot of customers who find that info would have there husband or wife call our company give a name of a small village or city in the cheaper metro area, and con us that way (and then run to a lawyer to make a fast buck). A lot of them are "perfect Americans.

It pisses me off that some report targeted all foreign people as crooks. What about Enron, Microsoft, positions, churches, TV preachers, etc? Aren't those people American? Those scams are way bigger than the little ones by moving companies. The United States is a very mean country, with an outrageous amount of homeless people, no health insurance, and biggest gap in standard of living between the rich and the poor. So, do not expect foreign people (like my self) to have respect for a country that made it big by killing MILLIONS of Indians, and enslaving tens of millions, of Africans.
