Voivemail MN scam put an unauthorized voicemail service on my phone bill

On November, 24, I recieved a service on my phone bill from ESBI called "Voicemail MN". They charged me $16.30. It was apparently added on October 30 via the internet. I did not authorize this service to be put on my phone!

I was not on the internet on the 30th or anywhere near a computer. I also have a cell phone that has voicemail with it so why would I want one on my home phone that I only use to access the net. I do not even have an anwering machine because I feel if the call is important, they will call back! All other calls from people I know go to my cell!

I called the #800 the was printed on the bill. The customer service rep said that she needed proof of who I am and wanted me to send her my phone bill. Funny, if they put it on my bill, then they surely know who I am! Yet, she could not or would not tell me who "they" were.

She emailed me proof that I asked for this service via email however, the files she sent were empty. She is waiting for me to prove who I am... Then maybe they will remove it?!?!? I will not pay for this unauthorized service and I am somewhat annoyed with phone company for allowing this to happen. Especially in this day and age of top security.

I called phone company. They did not know who this is and said that they could not drop the charges or take the service off even though I did not authorize them to put it on in the first place! Yet, this company is using the phone company bill as a vehicle for their ripoff/scam!!!
