Shops, Products, Services

Professional Machinery Group was supposed to sell our woodworking machinery on a consignment basis and to say the least they did a poor job. It gets more interesting.

First they wanted to dump our machinery and/or practically steal for themselves by selling for next to nothing at auction thru their sister company machinerymax.com. No joke, they were offering us $13,000 at auction price. This machinery new would sell for $250,000 and todays fair market value used is $80-$100,000. They were supposed to be marketing, advertising and selling thru tradition channels. After one of the owners, Dave Hegger & Kurt Gass, started to completely ignore my emails, phones calls to their office & cell, texts and even faxes, we said enough was enough. We said we would go elsewhere with our machinery & business. The response to my email to one of the owners, Dave Hegger, was a demand that I come get my machinery within 10 days. Mind you this is from Tracy, California back to Austin, TX with no place for storage in Austin, let alone trying to coordinate moving some very large

Equipment. 1 piece is 10X20X8 and weighs over 12,000lbs (6 in total). This is not something you just throw in the back off your pickup, this is delicate machinery that needs proper packing and shipping. He also stated that he was going to start charging me $50 per day storage fees after the 10 day pick up deadline.

The contract clearly stipulates that Professional Machinery Group will not charge seller storage or handling fees while equipment is under exclusive contract agreement during the initial term and or any extended term period.

Then Dave Hegger goes on to say that he is holding my machinery hostage and is going to try and extort me for a sale that went bad because of their negligence months and months ago. Woodworking machinery is sold as is, where is and again this is completely against the terms of the signed contract that stipulates AD retains full ownership until equipment is paid for in full and has full access to equipment.

If they refuse immediate delivery, they have been told that they are causing additional damages and in fact committing a conversion of your property which subjects them to additional liability. They cannot hold our equipment ransom for arbitrary charges. Our contract is clear about us still having full ownership and access. If their position is that the contract is terminated, then they need to get your equipment back to us ASAP.

Further we have reason to believe there is foul play in that they they have fraudulently sold some of the machines for different amounts than they paid us and pocketed the difference. They refused to submit sales invoices on this equipment. This is a 2nd degree felony under Federal law due to the amount, crossing states lines, and possible wire fraud.

We are going after them legally for deceptive trade, breach of contract, fraud, wire fraud, extortion, loss of business, all damages, ALL legal fees, total cost of returning our machinery and anything else within the law we can pursue along with any recourse that we have.

They also handle sales for banks on leases that have gone bad. Banks, if you read this, I would demand a full audit of the sales along with the invoice submitted to the customer and then contact the customer and verify that is the same amount that they received and paid!

Bottom line, I would stay as far away from this company as possible and there sister company machinerymax.com as there are plenty of other reputable, honest used woodworking machinery dealers nationwide. Learn from my costly mistake and dont make the same. I can refer you to reputable ones, just send me an email. Think if they do this when they have no skin in the game, I can only imagine what they cover up on the used machines they have money in!!! As soon as I told other dealers in the business I was getting my machinery back, they were all excited to work with me and help get it sold. They were not willing to work me while my machinery was at Professional Machinery Group because of their reputation!!! Help me spread the word of just how UN professional and uncooperative this business really is.
