Mark Mellor over charging and created and other fee up to $4,192.80 for typing $800 letter and $1700 to $1800 service

I paid $100 consulting fee to Mr. Mark Mellor to remove invalid mechanical lien, we agreed to leave $3,000 retainer fee. First $800 of $3,000 to draft a letter to remove the lien within two weeks if the client didn't then Mark Mellor will file motion with the court to remove will charging me another $1700 to $1800 and if we win the case and I will get my money back. I told him that your fee is kind high could you please just charge me only $2500 because I placed good review for on the internet if I can get discount for that he insist that to remove lien and get your money back this is good deal. After a about month I did not hear nothing from him

So I called his office and remind them about my case his secretary said she will talk to Mark and get back to me, about two weeks later I received phone call that other party did not respond to our letter and they will file motion to ask the court to remove the mechanical lien and I have to sign some documents that she sending for signing after I reviewed them I told Judy to file them and I will drop them after a week I dropped the signed documents but Mark did not file the motion with court neither the cost of writing the letter and filing the motion to remove the lien i thought they be part of our deal I asked them why she did not file with court yet she said because I have to sign them first.

After about three weeks Judy called and said the other party removed the lien and they will email me the copy of the removal. After a week I received the bill that I owed them additional $805 they said we out line charges in the contract mr mellor will call you to discau them after talking to him he said I have to pay additional $700 to $1100 to file motion to request getting my fee back I told him the object of my case was to remove the lien and you did and part of $2700 was to get my fee back, so I said no do not file to get my fee back but I told him It should be part of my initial fee you shouldnt charge me additional $805 for email, phone call, faxing, reviewing, research ($29 per month), dragging the case to charge me by the month, I asked them to credit $100 for consulting fee three times and they never did I been charge to correct their billing errors,

I stopped their services after December 6 but they still billing me for requesting my final bill they did not mail until January 4 to charge additional fee, he supposed to reduce the bill By $105 if I pay him by Dec 15 but never mail it, because they keep the case open untill charge me additional fee and they did additional $270 to read my email not to persue the case I am afraid to call them because they will charge me so I am going to their office to file small claim and file complain with CA Bar tomorrow. This kind of conduct must be stop even he is lawyer they shouldnt create extra charges to drain retainer fee when he promised to return at least $500 back ask him about the fees if you need their service even he might be good lawyer.
