Maumee Antique Mall - Carl Schmidt Lied on many accounts after I gave him cash for booth rental. Rude and shady man. BEWARE when renting space. Rip-off!

Carl Schmidt shows no interest in antique dealers that setting up in his new antique mall in which he knows nothing about how to run, it's a bother to him to be asked honest questions. He changed the booth rent price 3 times, we gave him cash and it was a bother to him to give us a receipt. He wants dealers to pay him $1,200 upfront for a better rate in a booth rent but no one knows who this man is and his address is 200 miles away from this mall. It promised many things that were not even close to be made.

The mall is advertised to be open but there is no sign or cash register, security cameras and this man isnt even there to watch the mall yet he wants dealers to leave their items there with workers going in and out all day. He could not produce a contract with his % of sales rates or even to have us sign anything. He claimed that he would fix exposed wires and missing peg board in our booth and never did. The building was a disaster and an accident waiting to happen and this is open to the public.

He lied about so many things we went in to call him out on it and Carl said he would give us our money back the next day if we came in so we did and he said he changed his mind and was a total jerk claiming he was going to call the cops when all we wanting was to get out of a bad scam in the makes. He refuses to talk with us or let us i the mall and we paid him $180.00 so we're intitled to be there for one month. He's moved other dealers items without asking them and broke items. The man knows nothing about aniques but only dollar signs and is pulling a major scam. Beware to any person giving this man money or wanting to put your valuable antiques in his trust and also if you go out of your way to shop there its not safe.
