Defective merchandise was sent, emailed customer service, advised to oil knife, did that, didn't work, no more responses! Anyone else?

This company is extremely hard to get in touch with! I have been trying to resolve a Christmas gift issue with them for a week and time is running out. I received a defective knife and now, I'd just like my money back so that I can order from another source. They say that they prefer email communications and after emailing them you receive an email stating that you will receive another email with in 1-24 hours. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS!!! I have tried to call 34 times and haven't had anyone answer ever! I HAVE left messages, but have not received a return call.
