Scam, Fake

I just went through this whole process with dazzling whites (DW) and clean whites (CW), after seeing the article written by the CA woman about the success of using the 2 samples together. I placed the order on 10/27 received them on 11/4 and was required to cancel the CW trial period by 11/9 - not really enough time to actually try the product. Like others, I did see the pop up windows for other products, but I deselected those. When I ordered the "free" sample CW only mentioned my subscription (for $79.95) to the product after I'd already clicked the button to pay for the trial! I knew at that point that this was probably a scam. My debit card was charged the shipping charges of. 99 cents (CW) and $1.99 (DW).
When I tried to cancel Clean whites using their automated system - according to their instructions and within the trial period - I then found out that I had to pay $6.99 for a UPS shipping label to return the product/empty jar. I did so and following that I canceled my debit card. But CW NEVER e-mailed me the shipping label. After I phoned them, they told me that they had to void the cancellation and the $6.99 charge and recharge me the $6.99 again in order to "re-send" the UPS label. So far the charge is on hold with my bank, so I'm still waiting to see if they actually canceled it. I tried to pay the $6.99 again, but since the only other card I have is an AMEX & I'd canceled my debit card, they couldn't do it. They don't accept AMEX. I offered to send it myself via UPS and they told me that I couldn't because I needed their special tracking number. I argued with them on the phone about whether they were planning to charge me for the subscription and what they were now going to do about my cancellation. They said they would put a note in my account and that I could pay for the label when I received my new debit card and that I would not be charged for anything else. The following day (11/7), I received an e-mail from them "confirming" my cancellation with the instruction that cancellation would be complete upon payment of the $6.99 for the UPS label and receipt of the returned product. I called them yesterday to confirm that the initial $6.99 charge was actually voided. They said that it was. After hanging up with them frustrated and fed up, I decided (even without proof from my bank that the initial $6.99 had indeed been canceled) to just bite the bullet and pay the $6.99 for the label with a VISA gift card and be done with the whole thing. When I called again I spoke to an agent who was very rude and asked me what more he could do for me since my account had already been canceled. When I explained to him that the only e-mail I'd gotten was the one explaining how to complete cancellation and that I'd never received the UPS label he said that according to his records they'd sent me a free UPS label, since I'd been credited for the label (the label which I'd NEVER received), and my account was completely canceled. When I asked about the requirement to return the product, he said that I could keep the product as a courtesy. I sent them an e-mail telling them about this conversation and asking for written confirmation that my account is canceled, but they have not responded. I'm hoping that this is the end of it and that they they won't send any unsolicited products. Since they don't have a valid card number from me anymore, at least I can't be charged for anything.
