Continued to take money from my credit card account after membership was cancelled

I enrolled with LFF then later added my live-in boyfriend to my membership and used my credit card to pay for the membership. I cancelled my gym membership (by written letter in March stating to please cancel my membership and hault all charges to my credit card) with Lifestyle Family Fitness and they continue to take funds from my credit card account. I called their customer support/billing center and spoke with a Tristian. I told him I was charged $79.16 on 5/27/08 after my account was cancelled. He told me to fax my credit card statement and he would remove the charge. He agreed I was charged incorrectly and my account was in fact cancelled in April. The charge was not removed and another charge was added on 6/14/08 in the amount of $39.58 so I called back and spoke to a Jason M. Who told me that I should have specified that I was cancelling the other person as well as myself when cancelling my account, refused to refund my money, told me there was nothing he could do about it, then told me to email him a request to cancel Matthew's account (even though I explained to him that Matthew did not have his own account, he was under mine.)

So LFF opened a new membership for my "plus one" and continue taking money from my credit card to pay for his monthly fees after I stated to stop all charges to my credit card and cancel my entire membership.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and LFF still refuses to refund my money. Apparently LFF has had no training in customer service and make their money by stealing from former members.

I recommend, if you still decide to join this gym after reading this, you do not sign up for direct pay through your banking or credit card account. But instead pay your monthly fees by cash or check.
