Stay Away from Big City Bride!

PLEASE save yourself a lot of time and trouble and look elsewhere. Our experience with Big City Bride was extremely frustrating. Over the two months that we were in touch with Susan Cordogan, she consistently failed to communicate in anything remotely resembling a timely manner, citing every excuse under the sun. Here are some examples:

1. It was her birthday so her texts were delayed (?)
2. Her e-mail wasn't receiving messages (3 times)
3. Her e-mail wasn't receiving OR delivering messages (2 times)
4. Her website was down
5. She "lost" my fiancee's e-mail
6. Her phone wasn't delivering text messages (4 times)
7. Her assistant was supposed to take care of it
8. She was at a funeral
9. She was unexpectedly having a root canal

You will notice that not a single one of these excuses has anything to do with her professional career. We know that wedding planners are busy and had Susan Cordogan told us she was working an event or was tied up in preparations for another wedding, that would have been 100% acceptable. However, while we are also extremely understanding of the occasional personal emergency and chalked it up to a fluke the first few (!) times Susan Cordogan failed to get back to us for personal reasons, we quickly started to run out of patience. After a pretty constant battle on my fiancee's part and a lot of very delayed, long-winded, and rather bizarre "explanatory" e-mails in response, Susan Cordogan ultimately provided us with zero usable vendors. Everything we booked while under contract with Susan Cordogan, we found ourselves.

Needless to say, we terminated said contract. On July 19th she agreed to refund our $2500 deposit. On August 14th, after five e-mails from my fiancée as well as several text messages, we still hadn't received our money back. Guess what? Her assistant was supposed to take care of it. THEN apparently fraud was detected on her account and she had to cancel the check. However, as soon as we began to file with small claims court, (with the support of our lawyer who wholeheartedly agreed that we had a cut and dry case) the check was immediately "in the mail and on its way, " though it still didn't make it to us for another ten days, FIVE WEEKS after we initially asked for it back.

Here's the thing: a wedding planner's primary job is to make your life easier. Susan Cordogan will not do that. Please save your money and your sanity and trust someone else with your big day!
