My name is Dr. Cain. My family and I drove from East Tennessee in the latter part of June to purchase our wolf / hybrid from your kennel / breeding facility Chaparral Farm in Hillsboro, Ohio. The individuals whom we got our Rafe are named James and Karen Supper. There address is 2198 SR 136 Hillsboro, Ohio.

We had two wonderful years with our 4 legged family member whom we named Rafe. Last year Rafe started having knee problems and after expensive and extensive surgery and a long recovery period he was finally on the mend.

Sunday July 17 he collapsed in our yard and was rushed to the vet. There (Animal Medical Center of Greeneville, TN) three vets spent five hours running tests and providing treatment. The final conclusion was a malignant cardiac tumor. The exact type of tumor was a Hemangiosarcoma. His abdominal cavity was full of non-cellular fluid and his pericardial sac was completely full of blood. The tumor had ravaged over a quarter of his heart. Needless to say, this is a very rare type of tumor, and even then, almost always only found in older dogs. The fact that our Rafe had this condition at age 4 sparks multiple questions.

Two of the vets (Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Claiborne) both stongly agree that this type of “congenital condition” in a dog so very young points almost directly to excessive inbreeding. We are in discussions regarding genetic testing in order to determine the extent of the possible inbreeding that resulted in our Rafe.

Needless to say our whole family is overwhelmed with this traumatizing experience. We followed the instructions provided by James to ensure a long life span.

I have tried several times today to contact James and Karen Supper via phone and e-mail. They are not responding to email or phone calls.

These individuals have done done business with the AKC or CKC for over ten years yet they still advertise there puppies are registered with these organizations on their website... http://chaparralfarm.com. This is false advertising and these individuals are prime examples of a Puppy Mill. We are intending to sue and are looking for others that have would like to join a class action against these individuals that have a valid clam.
