407CheapTickets is a SCAM!

Recreation & Entertainment

Like a lot of people, I did not want to buy my Disney tickets full price. I went online looking for 3rd parties to purchase them. I stumbled on 407cheaptickets.com and the prices were great. I also went on Craigslist looking. Of course 407cheaptickets had many posts on there as well sounding very professional and made themselves sound more trustworthy than the other ads. After doing a Google search I found a few good reviews about this site (of course they were probably bogus ones that they must have wrote themselves) so I decided to call them. It rang and went to a very professional voice mail even though it was their business hours.

A few minutes later I got a text saying "Hi" from (321) 230-6929. I replied and asked "who is this" and got a reply saying "were you looking for tickets?" I called back the 866 number posted on the site and a woman answered. Just like some of the other post I've seen, her name was Susanne. She seemed nice and after explaining the prices and that all tickets are "guarenteed 200% money back", said that she had her kids with her and would be best to text.

She explained in texts that I would need to get a Greendot card and fill it with the money for the tickets to pay them since she said they were "understanding that some people don't like giving their card numbers over the phone." That was very true for me so it kind of just added to the security I felt in purchasing from them. I went through with the purchase on 10/05 for my 21st birthday on 10/08. I got the will call emailed to me and it was very legitimate straight from the Disney site with my name. There ended up being thunderstorms all day that day so I didn't go and didn't get the chance to go until today 11/2.

After spending gas money to travel to Disney from my home and paying $14 for parking I got up to the will call and the person took my will call and said "Okay I just need your ID." Then after letting her see it she was gone for a minute and came back with her manager. The manager told me that the card used to purchase the tickets was blocked and asked if I purchased them myself. I told her I got them from a third party. She advised me to call them to let them know what happened. I text Susanne, at first just thinking maybe they changed their card and just thought I had used the tickets so they had no need to notify me. After many texts and calls with no reply or answer I knew I was scammed.

After breaking down for a few minutes the manager came, figuring they didn't answer. She asked how and where I bought them so I told her. She told me that the first red flag should have been that they were so cheap. The next flag she said was the Greendot card. She told me that if I had used a card I could have disputed the charge, which is true. She asked if I had the money to buy tickets there, which me and my boyfriend together had only $50 on us. She advised us to notify our local police, also offered to get a park investigator. She went back to the will call and when we were about to just take the loss and go back home, she came back. She said she "made magic" and got us two complimentary park hoppers for the day.

After reading this, please don't let them scam you! Not everyone comes out with as good an outcome as me. I definetly will never buy tickets from anywhere other than the direct source. Also Disney is wonderful and it is very worth it to just purchase tickets from them knowing it is indeed a guarenteed buy.
