Dean Martin Variety Show Unauthorized Charges, Specifically Unrequested Merchandise

Despite my specific request to refrain from sending additional DVD's of The Dean Martin Variety Show, Guthy-Renker Entertainment did just that. My account was charged more than twice the $19.95 / DVD price for each subsequent shipment. (One DVD per shipment).
Obviously, this company racks up a lot of shipping & handling charges.

I contacted Guthy-Renker today and spoke with Terri by telephone. I was told that my ongoing deliveries would be cancelled, but being that I NEVER authorized them to begin with, I am very skeptical about how readily this may be accomplished.

Guthy-Renker apparently covers their butt by including wording in their correspondence about the subsequent deliveries. Nothing, however, is written about the automated charges to one's account. If one does not want the subsequent merchandise, it may be returned LESS SHIPPING & HANDLING, which is more than the price of the individual DVD, within 30 days.

Contrary to their assertion of complete customer satisfaction, and risk-free process, this is just another rip-off from shady companies that use television advertising. Also, the fine print on their written correspondence indicates that they WILL SHARE their customer list with other "programs offering products and services" unless you write to them at their Connecticut P.O. Box.

Although I don't know if their ordering / shipment process operates differently from their website, I urge anyone who does not want an ongoing "subscription", along with exorbitant shipping & handling charges, to avoid any order by telephone. They will disregard your request, and you will have no proof otherwise.
