The South Asian Young Professionals, Club Bollywood Jay 2009 New Year Party Chicago Ripoff False Advertising Unsafe enviorment Ruined party Cops Called

This was one awful party I got into on new years eve on dec 31. The party was organized by a group who called themselves South Asian Young professionals and advertized it as Club Bollywood had more than 1000 attendants.

Venue: Stan Mansion: 2408 N Kedzie Av Chicago IL

Cops Intervention: The cops came in before the new year and yes STOPPED the party. It was called OFF and everyone was asked to leave immediately. Thus there was no new yr countdown or champagne toast as promised.

False Advertizing: (1) The brochure mentioned this was a club named as Bollywood Mansion had two levels, a separate lounge and Projectors, Plasma screens and Indian decor. None of this was true. It was just one big hall with a small 50 People capacity room by the side which they called the VIP Lounge.
(2) 5 reputed DJs were listed on the brochure. Only one of them played.

Unsafe: The VIP Lounge had an official board that said it could have a max capacity of only 50 People. There were more than 200 People in the room at one time were forced to remain inside if they wanted to consume alcohol and not go where the DJ was playing. What kinda party is that!!!

Underage Admission / Drinking: There were countless below 21 years males and females in the party clearly having access to the the cash bar where no IDS were checked. Did I mention no IDs were checked even at the entrance!!!

Open Bar Special: There was a 4 Hour open bar that was promised for the VIP tickets that we had bought. The alcohol was served for only 2 hours, it was not cold and it did not have all the variety that was promised.

Coat Check Mess: Now this one is the like the cherry on the cake! When 1000 people que up for getting their coats back we find out that the coats have lost their tags and hence everyone had to find their coats by themselves. Missed coats, exchanged coats, lost coats, pushing and rushing and did I mention almost a stampede!!! It took us 2 hrs to get our coats back while many did not even find theirs and had to go out just like that in the cold...
