Gilt city 40% off for fist purchase - gilt city

I received an email promising a 40% discount, clicked on the "shop now" button attached
to the discount and discovered a great deal on broadway tickets. When i went to buy, i was forwarded to a broadway ticket partner website to choose and pay for tickets, but there was nowhere to enter the code. I purchased the tickets anyway because i didn't want to lose the seats, figuring that gilt customer service would address any problems (i thought their reputation was solid). Well guess what? After being put on hold five times for a total of about 20 minutes, i was informed that i would be paying 40% more for tickets than i thought i was. Apparantly when you order from a mobile device or from a "third party partner", discounts don't apply. Never mind that the discount link takes you directly to the offer for broadway tickets, you should just know that these exclusions apply. I feel ripped off, and my opinion of gilt.com is totally eroded.
