Rented a property from J. W Realty from 2010. They took forever to fix things, sometimes trying to charge for things like broken garbage disposal. Never did maintanence on A/C unit, heater vents, fire alarms and other such things. Upon move out I was told to leave the keys, as he did not have time to meet me for final walk though. Left keys, kept calling and finally recieved a reply 2 weeks later that they were keeping deposit off $500 due to damages. I did not agree but am very busy with running my business, so just left it thinking that was that. Over TWO years later I see John at a best buy where I am buying a new TV and surround sound, well he must have thought I looked well off enough to swindle some money out of and that he did. A month after that, I recieve a letter from my monthly credit watch that he filed a claim for 3500 dollars, due to damages. I tried to fight it through collections, as the things he listed were outrageous, (i. E $200 for a freaking toliet seat, $ 600 for broken glass on a door that was fine whn we moved out). Unfortunately to take it to tried would have been at least 5K so I ended up settling for a lesser amount with the collection agency. If you are a renter... MAKE SURE you get the final walkthrough signed, even if he tries to avoid it. I did not know this and sending something to collections 2 years later was legal, but it is. If you are looking for PROPERTY management... Look else where. He does not maintain properties correctly. Oh and just so you know, during this 2 year lapse in "damage fees" he never once called me SAME NUMBER, or work SAME COMPANY. WATCH YOUR BACK and get everything signed ouff on move in / move out with these guys!!!
