Unlicensed salesman, installers - Carpet

Empire Today delivered 3 inferior products on one invoice and used high pressure tactics to persuade me to accept. Solid wood risers on stairs/delivered particle board faced with formica, solid wood treads/delivered 2 1/2 flooring. Did not accept. Unlicenced salesman/unlicensed subcontractors/no background checks. After discovering same day theft after carpet installation that was not industry standard, no stretching, tacking or proper tools, could not provide address of installler who signed completion invoice and could not provide, name, phone number or address of his partner. The loss prevention manager has refused to speak to me the consumer, only to the police. The BBB will not handle cases with police involvement/at Empire Todays' request all complaints are handled through Chicago BBB which is extremely deceptive when you look up records in home state. This company can be described as operating as bait and switch, 3 items on one invoice can not be a coincidence, especially when they badger you to accept inferior material. No regard for the consumer. No one would pick up random individuals on the street, allow them to enter your home or your neighbors, Empire Today by not verifying names, addresses, phone numbers, background checks of installers did just that.
