Withholding of funds - college scam

This apartment community rips off naive college kids. They withheld my security deposit, listing a bunk charges and fees. Additionally, their community is filthy and out-dated. Be prepared to clean and do not drink their water!

1. Upon move-out, they do not clean the empty units, allowing new tenants to move into a potentially filthy apartment. That was my experience. Sometimes, they are kind enough to waive your move-in fee. However, Kathy (the new manager) probably won't.

2. They will keep your security deposit. No matter what. After practically harassing the office almost 2 months after I moved out, I recieved an itemized list of cleaning fees and carpet cleaning fees. Not only were these charges non-applicable (I even had the carpets professionally cleaned), but the cleaning services never actually took place. I know this because 1 girl in the apartment extended her lease.

3. They sent my damage list 51 days after move-out. I guess Florida does not have the typical 30-day notice. Quite a wait.

4. They responded to my rebuttal 2 months later. Rather than responding to my arguements, they stated I sent the response too late (which was not the case, and thankfully, I have the mail documentation to prove it).

In sum, unless you feel like going through the hassle of taking these con-artists to small claims court for a measily $250 security deposit, you will not recieve it back. Also, you will be living in filthy units with out-dated appliances.in turn, you will always accumulate electric overages. If you dare, make sure to document EVERYTHING.

This is not worth the money. Rather than spending the rent money on reasonable things like a working security gate or working cameras, Boardwalk at Morris Bridge chose to spend it on pool parties and landscape. Rip off! Do not live here!!!
